The Beaufort Memorial Gardens commemorate airmen who have no known grave and who died over Bass Strait while training to defend Australia during World War Two. 

The Path of Remembrance within the gardens was opened on the 22nd November 2003.

This Path of Remembrance, a place for quiet personal and group remembrance was declared open by Major General J. C. Hughes AO, DSO, MC (retd) on 22 November 2003.
