Hobart High School Honour RollPrint Page

Photographs supplied by Arthur Garland
The wooden honour roll commemorates former students of Hobart High School who served in World War Two. The roll lists 57 names and was originally in the now defunct Hobart High School.
There was a private Hobart High in the 19th century. The current Government School was founded in 1913 as Hobart High School, renamed Hobart High Matriculation College in 1965, Hobart Matriculation College in 1966 and subsequently Hobart College.
Note : The “Tasmanian War Memorials Data Base”, compiled by Fred Thornett which is located at the State Library of Tasmania, contains a comprehensive listing of the names on this honour roll.
