The monument commemorates those who served in World War Two. A companion Remembrance Book is kept in the foyer of the nearby Lane Cove Council and records all those from the area who served during World War Two.
"Australia Remembers, 1945 - 1995" was a program of activities organised by the Federal Government to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
