The wooden honour roll commemorates those from Wanbi who served in World War Two.

A crowd of 400 thronged the Wanbi Soldiers' Memorial Hall on Saturday evening, March 27, for the unveiling ceremony of the honour roll, by Cr. E. M. Edwards, of Paruna, (chairman of the Brown's Well District Council). People from all through the Mallee and River districts were present. At approximately 9.15 p.m. the dance was interrupted and the crowd gathered around the honour roll which is hung on the western side of the hall, when the chairman of the Wanbi Services Welfare Committee introduced Mr. Edwards,  a returned soldier of World  War I. Cr. Edwards, delivered an excellent address.

After the unveiling, the Last Post was was sounded by Mr. W. Baker, of Loxton, and the National Anthem was played, by the orchestra. A vote of thanks was moved by Mr. W. Burnett (president of the Wanbi RSL sub-branch) to Mr. Edwards, and was seconded by Mr. Glen Wheaton. Mr. Dart mentioned the fact that of the 59 names which were on the honour roll 21 of them came from seven families.
