This plaque commemorates Hangar 201, the last Bellman hangar of No. 2 Operational Training Unit RAAF 1942 - 46 that is still in use today.
During World War II, 1247 pilots completed their operational training here, in aircraft kept flying by hard working ground crews.
Sadly 52 others lost their lives in various accidents, and we honour their memory.
