Cowangie Honour RollPrint Page
The honour roll commemorates those who served in World War One.
The honor board which was recently unveiled by Cr Hecht in the presence of a large and representative gathering, is a handsome one, and well might the Welcome Home Committee be praised for their excellent choice. The board is of blackwood and contains 42 names inlaid in gold letters, the names of those who paid the supreme sacrifice occupying the centre column. Directly under the board (which has been placed in the local hall) there is a portion of a machine gun, this being allotted to Cowangie, on application, as a war souvenir.
Pinnaroo and Border Times (SA), 31 March 1922.
