Kuranda Roll of HonourPrint Page

Photographs supplied by Diane Watson
The honour roll commemorates past students from Kuranda School and others from the District who served in World War One. The names of the nine soldiers who died in service or were killed in action appear at the top of the list of names.
The Kuranda Honour Roll was unveiled on the 11th October 1919 by Mr Ernest Hunter. Of the 48 men who enlisted, 9 made the supreme sacrifice. Mr Hunter also distributed Peace Medals to the children at the unveiling ceremony. The railway station was chosen as a permanent site for the honour roll
