A Bottle Tree commemorates those who served in World War One.
Four bottle trees were planted in 1917 - 1918 by the National Bank Manager to commemorate staff, other bank's staff and local men who served in World War One. A plaque was unveiled on the last surviving tree on the 9th March 2004.

Bottle Tree
This is the last remaining of 4 bottle trees, planted in 1917 - 1918 in King Street by Mr. E. P. Wells (Qld National Bank manager) and his wife, honouring one of his staff, other banks` staff and local men who served in World War 1.
Two bottle trees were planted in 1917 across the street in front of Bruce Hamilton`s Garage and a little further up, while this tree and a fourth were planted on the western side of King Street in Nov / Dec 1918.
May its presence act as a reminder of those who served their country so well.
Unveiled by Councillor Ann Collins, the Mayor of Clifton Shire Council on 9th March, 2004.
