The War Memorial was erected by the residents of Blanchetown and District to commemorate those who served in World War One. It was unveiled by Mrs. S. Lun in 1925.

Blanchetown, April 15.
There was a large gathering at Blanchetown to witness the unveiling of the Blanchetown Memorial Stone. Mrs. Samuel Lunn, who journeyed from Adelaide to unveil the stone, was introduced by the president of the committee, Mr. Fred Hartwig. Among others who spoke were Mr. Cook, M.P. Rev. Hines and Mr. Edgar Lunn. After the ceremony the crowd wended its way to the hall, where a fair was in progress.
