West Kentish Roll of HonourPrint Page

Photographs supplied by Arthur Garland
The wooden honour roll commemorates those who served in World War One. It lists 26 names of those who returned and 8 names of those who lost their lives.
A large number of parents and visitors gathered at the West Kentish State school to take part in the Empire Day celebrations, and the unveiling of the honor roll. Mr. Quinn was chairman. Instructional addresses were delivered by the Warden (Cr. Quaile) and Rev. K. Harris, B.A. During the singing of Kipling's Recessional, Mrs. York unveiled the honor roll, which is a very fine piece of work.
Advocate (Burnie), 28 May 1926.
