Tantanoola Memorial FlagpolePrint Page Print this page

Photographs supplied by

The flagpole commemorates those who have served in conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

Funding was received by the Watttle Range Council through the Saluting Their Service Program in 2013 for the installation of the flagpole and also a memorial to commemorate local service men and women.

In 2013, Wattle Range Council erected a flagpole in the Tantanoola parklands near the former railway station and also donated an Australian flag for flying on such occasions. The flagpole and flag were an initiative of then Mayor Peter Gandolfi.

Note: The flagpole was erected in 2013 and is flown on Australia Day, ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day. It is located adjacent to the Avro Anson Memorial which was erected in 2009.
