The monument commemorates those  who served in World War One and World War Two. It is two granite pillars spanned by a wrought iron arch with marble plaques affixed to the face of the pillars.

A district war memorial arch and ramp at the entrance to the recreation ground was officially opened yesterday by the Minister of Lands ( Mr Hincks), who was introduced by the chairman of the Weetulta Recreation Park Committee (Councillor F. R. Ferguson). There were visitors from Moonta, Maitland, Arthurton and Kadina.
