Avenue of Honour - Coulstone StreetPrint Page Print this page

Photographs supplied by Graeme Saunders

There are two Avenues of Honour in Beeac, and this one in Coulstone Street commemorates those who died in service or were killed in action during World Wars One and Two. The first trees were planted in 1918.

Tree planting, under the auspices of the local patriotic committee, took place on Wednesday of last week in Coulson (sic) street, when trees were planted to perpetuate the memory of eight district soldiers. Substantial guards were placed around each tree, and the names of each soldier affixed. These names were unveiled by returned local soldiers.
