Freemans Reach War MemorialPrint Page
The War Memorial lists those from the district who served in World War One and World War Two. Funds were received in 2013 for the restoration of the memorial.
A site at Freemans Reach suggested for approved war memorial was approved by the Colo Shire Council in June 1954. At a letter sent to the council by the Freemans Reach Memorial Committee it was proposed to have the land gazetted as a public reserve. At the meeting Councillor Nutman remarked that the committee should be persuaded that they are out of date with these kind of memorials and that the RSL advises its members only to build halls and those kinds of things these days. Councillor Smith replied that the Memorial committee was handicapped by limited funds.
