The hall commemorates those who died in service or were killed in action in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved. 

Originally a Mechanic`s Institute, the hall is constructed on land originally allotted to G. Cumming in 1907. The hall underwent a number of renovations and extensions until 1945 when it was decided that the hall and adjacent Curlwaa War Memorial were in a decrepit state and required restoration. A fund was established and the hall was to be dedicated as a public War Memorial. Panels were mounted either side of the main door recording the names of those who had died in service or were killed in action in World War One and World War Two.  The original Honour Rolls recording all who had served were retained in the Hall

The renovated hall was opened in 1958 and the old War Memorial demolished as it was a traffic hazard.

Note : As at 26-September-2020 the Roll of Honour panels that were mounted either side of the front door are no longer there and inside the building it is either falling apart or has been vandalised.
