The swimming pool was erected as a war memorial to commemorate those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.

The pool amenities were upgraded in 2018.

This pool established by the Lockhart Shire Council with financial and practical assistance from the residents of The Rock  and District was officially opened by Hon. Davis - Hughed M.L.A. Minister for Public Works on March 18th. 1971.
